Blake Lively And Ryan Reynolds Looked Straight Out Of A Holiday Rom-Com During a Stroll In NYC

Someone needs to write whatever holiday rom-com Blake Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, are apparently starring in this season. The couple have been spotted on a number of romantic walks in New York City over the past few weeks, most recently during a midday stroll downtown on Thursday.

In this rom-com universe, Reynolds has apparently assumed the role of the handsome but tastefully disheveled professor, opting for puffer vests and tailored jackets, while Lively plays perfectly into the small town fashionista in miniskirts, chunky boots, and high-waisted denim. Their latest scene had the two of them exchanging adoring looks under the glow of a Christmassy NYC; the paparazzi even caught ornaments and handmade snowflakes hanging in the windows behind them. (Swoon.)

Lively wore a classic black crewneck sweater with light wash jeans and a Gucci belt, while Reynolds, in a grey velour bomber and a green button-down, paid tribute to the late Virgil Abloh with a pair of Nike Blazer Mid Off-White All Hallow’s Eve sneakers.

Of course, it doesn’t take a fake film to be captivated by the romance—and humor—of Lively and Reynolds’s 10-year relationship. After all, they’re notorious for poking fun at each other in interviews; during a recent appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Reynolds even made a joke about their sex life.

How’s Blake? How are the kids?” Fallon asked.

“You know, they’re all good,” Reynolds responded. “Blake’s—no personal questions, by the way. But Blake is great. The sex is totally normal.”

“I wasn’t going to ask that,” Fallon said.

But Reynolds kept the gag going, adding, “Hey, hey, hey! Pump the sex brakes, Jimmy. I asked no personal questions, and you’re going right in on it, all right? Barbara Walters, easy.”

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actor said their visible chemistry is largely due to friendship behind the scenes. “We don’t take each other too seriously, but we’re also friends,” he explained. “Falling in love is great, but do you like each other? That’s kinda the question you gotta ask yourself, you know, going into it. We’ve always liked each other. We grow together. We learn from each other. So yeah, I’m lucky to have a buddy in that.” All I’m hearing is even more reasons why this couple ought to be featured in my Netflix queue next holiday season.
